July 21st, 2008
Wordpress 2.6 was released last week. It’s definitely my favorite release thus far. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about it, but I won’t waste my breathe – the Automatticians already have in this awesome recap video:
But, the coolest feature, and the one I’m proud to have spent a lot of time and hard work on, is the Press This bookmarklet:

The Garrard 401: My New Baby
June 28th, 2008
The Garrard 401 + Lignolab Plinth + SME 3012 + Denon 301R combo was 1 year in the making. It sounds so beautiful, you’d be amazed. Yes, it’s a record player. Call me antiquated.

June 23rd, 2008
Chlöe Sevigny, fashion icon (how do I become one of those again?), is in a newish UNI QLO campaign, that I just totally dig. It’s got a really fantastic satiric storyline going on. Deeply playful.
And, if you are into erotic art/artistic nudes, Inez & Vinoodh shot a really beautiful editorial of her a few years back (NSFW). I think she’s the perfect example of a “normal” girl being beautiful and soulful.

TOMS Shoes Help Keep Feet Soled
June 13th, 2008

TOMS makes life more comfortable through its ultra lightweight design and the company’s commitment to match every pair purchased with a donated pair to a child in need. There are no complicated formulas, it’s simple…you buy a pair of TOMS and the company gives a pair to a child on your behalf.
How excellent! Buy a cool pair of shoes and help put a pair on someone else’s feet. They’re a great deal too!
I’m ordering two pairs, cause I just can’t decide between all the rad patterns.

GHOSTS I-IV
March 31st, 2008
Trent Reznor’s newest minimalist instrumental album is an amazing feat. The music is beyond the grasp of most of the public. Yet, Reznor, with his early rock-death-metal-electronica releases in his career, made himself so well known and thus made it possible for him to release such an abstract instrumental album. This is one of the most substantial minimalist electronic albums – maybe, of all time.
But, the coolest thing about the album, is the artwork. Aside from the tons of extras you get by just paying $5 for the CD, each song has it’s own high-res image to go along with the song. The artwork is really spectacular. Definitely pick this album up, even if it’s just for the cool wallpapers.

After attending the AMODA Digital Showcase while I was t SXSW 2008, I saw a guy named “Madison Effect” perform live. I checked him out on his MySpace page immediately afterwards and found two very amazing albums for free. Highly recommended.
