SEED Conference & Classic Typography

Classic typography is being used quite cunningly by, what appears to be, a Coudal designed, SEED Conference Website.

It pulls on old style typsetting. Using, to great affect on Readability, all forms of typographic style, for example, using italics for emphasis on space and topic in the first title sentence.

I attended the first SEED Conference and found it, surprisingly, to be one of the most important talks I’ve encountered. It’s a conference that is truly a gathering of wonderful minds.

Related, when searching Wikipedia for “Typography” I came across a “A specimen of roman typefaces by William Caslon”1.

Your Gambling Problem Buys Books For Kids!

My company, eight6 is going to match up to $1000 worth of bets, to buy a ton of books for underprivileged kids.

I love good causes. And, this one is fun! Get on over to the Making Book page and place your bets. Skip the casino, and gamble to buy books for kids!

From coudal:

Each bet costs $10 and all the money bet will go to First Book, “a nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books.”
